Why you must visit Odense in Denmark

I have been to Denmark once again and this time I have visited the cozy little town of Odense. This small village is best known because the famous fairytale writer HC Andersen comes from there. But Odense as a city has so much more to offer than just seeing Andersen’s house. It immediately struck me what a great shopping city Odense is for its small size.

The first store I botanized in was a great health food store called Natural Foods. Then I continued to a lovely bakery across the street and bought a delicious chocolate brownie. Then I wandered further along the cobbled streets and window shopped in cozy shops of all kinds. As well as ate one of the best truffle burgers ever.

Here I have captured the city of Odense in my own way and it is said that pictures are worth a thousand words!

The city also has lots of small fine delicatessens. There you can indulge in delicious cheeses and fine local wines. Yes, Odense is clearly a city for connoisseurs!

In the store above, which is located at the end of the shopping street in the center, you can find nice Danish retro stuff.

As many of you probably know by now, I love driving an escooter. I found a Voi in Odense and of course I had to go for a ride. And I don’t regret it, because it was one of the most beautiful cycle paths I’ve ridden on. Surrounded by beautiful old houses, fragrant lavender and lush greenery. I really recommend this, take a ride around by bike or escooter and see more of the stunningly beautiful surroundings outside the city too.
