Hur kan jag förstora ett litet rum? 6 tips

How to enlarge small rooms

Everyone wants to live in big spaces but most people don’t have the wealth to live like Hollywood wives. That’s why you have to make the most out of what you have and why you must enlarge small rooms wherever possible. If you live in a small space, there are some tricks you can use to enlarge the room. Here are 6 tips to show how you can easily give the illusion of a small room being larger than it really is.

Enlarge small rooms

I dedicate this post to everyone living in small rooms with big dreams :)

1. Utilize all unused spaces
The area under the bed is excellent for storage of bed clothes. There are both beds with drawers already built in, as well as seperate bed drawers that you can get from Ikea. Smart storage gives you more space to for other things :)

2. Enlarge the room vertically
I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to use curtains that stretch all the way fom the floor to the ceiling. Anything else makes a room seem smaller and diminished. Attach your favourite material to the curtain rails in the ceiling and watch your home become transformed into a luxury hotel room in no time.

3. Use shelves for storage
Shelves can work miracles in small bathrooms, giving you space for more than you thought you had. Beautiful towels in lovely shades make the Autumn hotter :)

No other colour is so debated, but one thing is for sure – white is the opposite of darkness. If you have a small room and use dark shades, you suffocate the light and diminish the space. Light is reflected in many directions in white room, and can give the illusion of the room being larger. It’s also been shown that white prevents depression, so invite some snow white shades in to the Winter darkness.

5. Mirrors enlarge
In second place when it comes to giving the illusion of bigger rooms are mirrors. In the picture above a large mirror that covers an entire wall has been used in an otherwise small bathroom. Smart, good looking, and reflecting the light so that the room looks twice as large. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s got the biggest bathroom of them all? :)

The pride of Sweden, IKEA is a master of utilizing all small spaces to the max. In the picture above you can see the design winner of the year in ELLE, Lillången bathroom decor from IKEA which is perfect for tight bathroom spaces.
